Immigrants from 25 Countries Receive US Citizenship

The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area recently hosted a naturalization ceremony for 50 new citizens from 25 countries. The ceremony was part of the park’s ongoing commitment to celebrating the diversity of the United States.

The naturalization ceremony was hosted by the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This is the sixth naturalization ceremony that the park has hosted.

The new citizens at the ceremony came from all over the world, including Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Iraq, Jamaica, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen and Zimbabwe.

The new citizens were sworn in by U.S. District Judge John Walter. After the ceremony, they received their certificates of naturalization.
